**Event Description:** In *The Yahoo Boys*, journalist Carlos Barragán explores the world of online romance scams through the lives of Nigerian fraudsters and their victims. Blending investigative reporting with personal insight, the book examines the tactics, motivations, and human impact behind a global form of cybercrime.

Join us to hear Carlos discuss the book and share firsthand insights into his reporting and the realities behind these scams. The talk will include time for audience questions—an opportunity to engage directly with the author.

**Speaker Bio:** Carlos Barragán is a reporter and researcher for *The New York Times* based in Madrid. He was formerly a reporter at *El Confidencial* before receiving his MFA in nonfiction writing from Columbia University. *The Yahoo Boys* is his first book.
